This experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of silver nanoparticles (0, 5, 10 and 20 mgl-1) on longevity and quality of cut chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium L.) flower. The flowers pretreated for 24 hours with pulse preservative solution and then were transferred to 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate 300mg l-1and sucrose 3%. Traits such as vase life, fresh weight loss and stem bacteria counting were measured. According to the results all treatments had positive effects on the vase life of flowers. Pulse solution with 10 mg l-1 silver nanoparticles increased the vase life compared to control 3.21 days. The results of the data analysis showed significant difference in all measured traits at levels 1 or 5%. The present study showed that post harvest life of cutchrysanthemum flower can be increased using appropriate concentrations of silver nanoparticles.
